Utmost Frustration!

It is with utmost disappointment that I'm writing this letter to travelocity. It is even more disappointing since I've been a loyal travelocity customer and a VIP member for a while. I have reiterated this story to so many travelocity customer care agents so many times that it makes me very annoyed to have to write it down one more time. But I have to and I'm hoping that someone will take charge and accountability for this matter as I've been bounced around so many times that I'm getting to ultimate frustration with your customer care agents. To start with my trip ID is 6813 0578 7190 I booked my ticket from Seattle to San Francisco for June 27-Jul 6 originally and I paid $206 for a Virgin America flight. A week before my flight I decided to make changes to the time of my flight and I called travelocity. They told me that it will be a $140 charge difference and I agreed and provided my credit card information. I was put on hold for half an hour so that travelocity agent could confirm the change with the airline, after half an hour they told me that the change is confirmed and I'm good to go. 24 hours later I got an email from travelocity saying that my ticket was not confirmed by the airline, so I called back and after a 2 hour conversation they told me that the ticket prices have gone up and now I have to pay even more to make the change to my ticket. I asked travelocity to not make any changes and just give me my original ticket back and to my surprise they mentioned that my original ticket was canceled!!! I do not understand why you would cancel a ticket before being able to confirm a new ticket for your customers!!! This is not acceptable! So after staying on the phone for a couple of hours they went ahead and made the change and confirmed it with the airline again and ASSURED me that this time it will go through and everything is all taken care of. I agreed that my credit card will be charged for the fair difference. A day later I get another email saying that my ticket was not confirmed by the airline, so I call travelocity again and this time they tell me that there is some problems with the credit card, so I provide all the details one more time and they tell me that the ticket is good to go and again they put me on hold to confirm with the airline. I was ASSURED that the ticket was confirmed and everything is good to go. My flight is the next day and I arrive at the airport at 6 am since my flight is at 7:15 am. Virgin America searches for my ticket for half an hour and after not being able to find my ticket I call travelocity to get my airline confirmation code. They pulled up my reservation and right there it said " CANCELED"!!!! The airline informed me that travelocity had canceled my ticket!!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked travelocity why they would cancel my ticket and not let me know and they said, sorry we didn't even know until just now!!! So I'm at the airport and it's 6:45 am and I HAVE to get on that flight. My only option was to purchase a ticket right there at the airport and I ended up paying $224 for a one way ticket to San Francisco. After arriving in San Francisco I call travelocity and ask to speak with a supervisor who was not really able to help me except to offer me to re-issue my ticket for the return. I told them that I DO NOT TRUST THEM anymore, and even if they tell me that they re-issued my ticket and it's all confirmed and good to go that I actually will have a ticket when I get to the airport. So I asked them to just cancel my ticket and not bother!!! So now, not only I paid $206 for my original ticket + I had to pay $224 for my flight to San Francisco, but I also have to purchase a separate ticket to fly back to Seattle. This is not acceptable and I hope someone in travelocity will take responsibility and accountability for this matter and will reimburse me for all the damage they've caused me! I hope you make all the effort to compensate your VIP customer for what I have gone through as per your own statement: At Travelocity... ...our commitment to you is that everything about your booking will be right, or we'll work with our partners to make it right , right away.

What's up with all this spam in my blog???? They are all over the comments I get. I guess there are keywords that trigger these spams to show on my blog! I wonder what those keywords really are...I guess I can't really blame the system as I chose to use this tool and so I have to be ok with getting spams as a part of it. But one thing I still have serious issues with is people I know spamming me! I still can't figure out why some people are so stupid to forward emails such as "spread the luck to 20 people to stay lucky", "Bill Gates sharing his fortune, so forward this email to get a piece of his fortune", "Don't buy Lancome products they will kill you", "forward this email to 10 people or you'll be miserable for the rest of your life!" etc, etc. What are these people really thinking??? Don't they see how they are being fooled? ... astaghforallah

Simply Joys of life – Slippers

I recommend that next time you stay in a hotel, you ask for a pair of slippers. They always have them, but never leave them in the room for you. However, if you ask for slippers, they’ll bring them up to you with a big smile on their face thinking “how do you know about our slippers? And how dare you reduce our margin by 50 cents! But here you go and please let us know if you need anything else, just stop asking for slippers! ” – but I love these little comfy things so much that I have started collecting them from all over. This year, I had three birthdays, one with Nasrin in Tehran (my mom and I are born on the same day!), one with Sanaz J in London, and one with friends in Seattle. So I pretty much blew candles all the way back to Seattle which was loads of fun – made 28 super special – Sanaz and I got to see each other after a year for one day and pretty much talked the entire time! Surprisingly we both realized that we are not 18 anymore when after walking in the streets of London for a few hours we decided to go back to our comfy slippers in the hotel and continue the conversation rather than hitting a night club in London till 5 am as we used to! The funny thing is that we didn’t even have to brainstorm. It was obvious, “slippers” or “dance floor”??? Slippers, it is!

I feel like I have many different lives and sometimes I forget which life I’m living in – I have different moods and sometimes I get lost in my own moods, and can’t figure out if I’m happy, sad or mad! I do go up and down like everyone else, but I choose not to write during down times – I think everyone has got their own pile of issues to deal with that reading Sanaz’s complaints is not the most exciting thing in the world. But I have to break my rule this time. Right now I am mad and I want to write because it’s killing me! I’m on the plane back to Seattle and it is Friday, so I basically lost my Friday night because of work! There is this big fat woman snoozing on my left, and is taking half of my space! The guy in front of me has pushed his seat all the way back and jammed up my knees. My toes are also curled up because I had to put my stuff under the seat in front of me since there was no more room left on the plane! The worst is this guy to my right with his horrible stinky breath L Every time he takes a deep breath mikham bekooboonam too saresh! Ok, I’m done! No more complaining about life!! Haha – I admit this is not the downest of my down times, but I’m very grumpy!! Oh, and one more thing I just remembered, before I left on Tuesday I saw these little flying ants around one of my windows so I bet they are all over my place now enjoying a little get together during my absence! Ugh! Life is difficult!

How come no one ever told me about Ottawa?! I think Ottawa is one of the prettiest cities I’ve seen (well, I can only speak for downtown Ottawa) - I can easily compare it to New York or Edinburgh…now you can laugh at me or agree with me, but that’s how I feel! I got in late last night and had to sit in all day meetings and a usual steak-dinner for hours, and finally got some time to myself to walk around and explore the city around 11 pm…which was kind of late, but still had to do it. Every time I visit a new city I get excited like a little kid that sees a new purple candy for the first time! I just love walking around - without a map - getting lost and finding my way back. And Ottawa gave me that great satisfying feeling that I was not expecting. Oh, and one interesting thing that I noticed is that there are about 5 Irish pubs and shops on each block. What’s up with that? I don’t think I’ve seen this many Irish pubs except for in Ireland…well, I guess that’s one other reason I really like this city! Now I just have to make sure I squeeze myself in tootoo’s next trip home so that I get some more of this beautiful city.

Corfu is a beautiful island in the northwest of Greece - Like any other mediterranean seaside town it has beautiful beaches and everything, but it's also got lots of curvey roads. The roads were really curvey and reminded me of Chaloos. Motorbikes! Totally wanted to do it, but I had to give it up since non of the girls wanted to drive on the right side of the road (Well they're Irish! what can I say?!). So we rented a car and drove all around the island...it was funny, cause we got lost so many times, and all these greek oldies were sitting outside their house drinking frappe, playing backgamon and watching us, thinking why these idiot girls are going through a narrow dead-end?!

one other thing I noticed in Corfu, was the lazy dogs that were laying around all over the city...just like cats in Tehran! I say this is not the place for shaghayegh to visit!

الان از تجريش اومدم. اگر يک جايي تو تهران باشه که من بخاطرش شوق و ذوق اومدن اين همه راه رو داشته باشم تجريشه. اصلا حال و هواي تجريش با همه شلوغيش منو سرحال مياره... هنوز هم همونجوريه که ده سال پيش بود با همون آدمها و ميوه فروشها و دل و جگري و بلالي و باقالي فروشهاش. فقط چيزي که خيلي فرق کرده لباس پوشيدن آدمهاست. ديگه خدا رو شکر همه خانومها با کيفهاي گوچي و ديور و فندي قلابيشون تو تجريش جولون ميدند و مارکهاي تقلبيشون رو به رخ هم ميکشند...منم که عشقم اينه که تو تجريش بچرم و به حرفهاي مردم گوش بدم. اين بار دو تا خانوم با آب و تاب تموم داشتند راجع به قيامت حرف ميزدن و يکيشون داشت به جديت تموم به اون يکي ثابت ميکرد که ديگه دوره آخر زمون شده و نشونشم اين طوفانهاي سالهاي اخير در همه جاي دنياست ...بعدم داشت ميگفت که چند تا کشور ديگه به زودي ميرند زير آب و اوليشم انگليسه و بقيه اش هم يادش نبود و گفت که بايد از ملاي مسجدشون بپرسه! يک کمي اونطرفتر يک پسري داشت دور و بر يک تلفن عمومي ميچرخيد و هي سرش اين طرف و اون طرف دنبال يک چيزي ميچرخيد...بعد ديدم که کم کم داره مياد طرف من و يک چيزي زير لب تند تند زمزمه ميکنه . اول فکر کردم داره قربون صدقه سبک تجريشي ميره و محلش نگذاشتم...بعد ديدم که مثل اينکه داره يک سوالي ميکنه و ميگه خانوم ميايي پشت تلفن؟ بازهم نفهميدم که چي ميگه و محلش نگذاشتم و راهمو کشيدم رفتم...يک کمي دور که شدم فهميدم که بيچاره ميخواسته به دوست دخترش زنگ بزنه ولي ميخواسته که من براش زنگ بزنم که صداي يک دختر پشت تلفن باشه اگه کس ديگه اي جواب داد...طفلکي! اگه فهميده بودم چي ميخواست کمکش ميکردم...س

Ok, I have to admit - Emirates is by far the best airline I've ever flown with - but of course, although I had lots of legroom and a super comfy seat, I still managed to splash my big juicy tomato all over the window, drop my salad bowl to the floor, spill my lovely glass of Bloody Mary all over myself and the seat, and baffle the guy sitting next to me with my holding abilities! But with all this I still had the best flying experience ever! I had so much fun I didn't want to waste my time by sleeping...I had a choice of 100 movies, shows, video clips and even video games! And of course my Korean neighbor was all over the video games the entire time...at some point he got so into it I thought he was going to kick me out of the window! and a few more interesting things I observed: - Flight attendants were from all nationalities, except for UAE! So for all arabic announcements they had to play this pre-recorded audio since nobody spoke arabic on the plane! - There were stars on the ceiling of the plane, so when the lights were turned off it felt like you are in a desert watching the stars - 3/4 of the passengers were asian, which I thought was weird cause they were flying from Greece to UAE...GLOBALIZATION is all I can think of! - Persian Gulf was called "The Gulf" on all their display screens showing progress of the flight - hmmm...I guess that's all I could absorb in four hours!!

ديروز رفتم سراغ درخت گوجه سبزم که جاشو به هيچکس نميگم. ولي خنده دار اينجا بود که هرکسي که منو در حالت آويزون از درخت ميديد يا اينکه چپ چپ منو نگاه ميکرد که يعني تو ديگه چه جور خلي هستي يا اينکه حس فضوليشون اينقدر شديد بود که ازم مپرسيدند که چي کار ميکني و وقتي که به اصرار من يک گوجه امتحان ميکردند قيافه شون جوري تو هم ميرفت که فکر ميکنم خدا رو شکر ديگه هيچوقت دور و بر درخت عزيزم پيداشون نشه...خلاصه يک کيسه گنده پر شد از اين اجناس سبز قيمتي و منم به خيال خودم کلي به دوستهام حال دادم و کل کيسه رو شب بردم خونه شقايق ، ولي چشمتون روز بد نبينه که اين اجناس گرانبها ، دوستهاي گرانبهاي منو کله پا کردند ...جوري که شايد خودمم حالاحالاها سراغ درختم نرم...س

I'm going to Dublin in a week...I'm sooo excited I don't even know how to explain it...I think one thing in my life that I never got over was Dublin, and I can't quite explain why. It's just a feeling that I have like many other feelings!! ok, I need to complain now....I got rid of this guy that works for me today, and it was tough...He was so irresponsible and unfriendly that didn't really give me a choice. I kind of feel bad for him though, but I have to GSD (as my lovely boss says - and I truely mean LOVELY) which means Get Shit Done, and I just couldn't GSD with this guy that worked for me...oh well, I hope he finds peace somewhere else. Probably not in accenture! ok, more updates...so my plan for my trip is to go to Dublin to Corfu to Athens to Dubai (ofcourse there are no direct flights from Greece to Iran!) to Tehran to Amsterdam To London and back to Seattle. How many days do you think I have for this whole thing??? I know I do overwhelm myself and then I complain about the guy not doing his job because he can't handle things...Am I doing something wrong? Do I expect too much?

امروز تو راه صد جور هوا ديدم. اولش که حسابي گرم و تابستوني بود و اين پشه مگسهاي بيچاره تپ و تپ ميخوردن به شيشه ماشين. اين برف پاک کن بدبخت هم هر چي جون ميکند نميتونست از پسشون بر بياد. يک کمي بعدش بارون اومد و بعد يوهو برف شديد و يخ بندون و کلي ماشينها رفتن تو شکم همديگه... يک کمي جلوتر دوباره آفتاب شد و اين بار زنبورها هم به جمع شهدا پيوستند... خلاصه تو اين دو ساعت رانندگي من چهار فصل رو ديدم. آخرشم تو ونکور يک رنگينکمون خوشگل به استقبالم اومد... فقط حيف که همه اش تو دوربينم جا نشد

My latest update: Working in Vancouver now!!Got a project at BestBuy Canada and super excited about it...although.... I'm kinda back to my homeless/hotel days and eat out nights... but it's fun...oh here is the funny thing! They don't like Dell laptops at BestBuy so anyone who has a Dell laptop has to get an HP or Toshiba, etc...!! I guess this is their way of killing competition! lol Anyways, I'll be driving to Seattle pretty much every weekend. It all started on a rainy day in August when Pourya and Fargol were trying to come to an agreement on where we should go for lunch. To my surprise, I found Pourya defeated and we ended up having sushi instead of cholo kabab! Can u imagine?! That’s where Pourya was first introduced to California Roll and fell in love with it in a blink of an eye. Soon after, we had to visit the sushi place at least twice a week. This was just the beginning of his journey to California. Dear Friends, We too became Californians. Pourya has just signed a pre-match offer, and so we’ll be moving to the Bay area in 5 months. The good news is that we’ll be in the midpoint of Seattle and Southern CA. So we hope you guys will hold the reunions in our place J Anahita

اولين بار که فرگل به سوشي معرفي شد با هم تو دانشگاه بوديم و طبق معمول گرسنه! منم اون روز با کلي ذوق و شوق رفتم از کافه تريا سوشي خريدم و فرگل رو کلي تشويق کردم که براي اولين بار سوشي امتحان کنه ... ولي خوب اون موقع همچين حاليم نبود که کافه ترياي دانشگاه بهترين جا براي امتحان کردن سوشي نيست.....خلاصه فرگل طفلکي براي اولين بار يک سوشي مونده و له شده و بي مزه رو خورد و از اون به بعد تا مدتها از سوشي خوشش نيومد....الان بعد از سالها بهترين همپاي سوشي من فرگله و يکي از تفريحات هميشه به راهمون خوردن سوشي تو رستورانهاي خيلي خوبه...اينقدر هم تا حالا خرج اين ماجرا کرديم که هر وقت ميريم رستوران مورد علاقمون صاحبش کلي بهمون حال ميده و بشقابهايي جلومون ميذاره که مجبور ميشيم فوري دوباره برگرديم اونجا...س

هيچ وقت فکر نميکردم که يک درخت شکسته وسط خيابون بتونه اينقدر به من آرامش بده. آرامشي که شايد سالها احساسش نکرده بودم. البته با اينکه دلم خيلي براي اين درخت بيچاره سوخت از اينکه با افتادنش کل سيمهاي برق منطقه رو بهم ريخت خيلي خوشحال شدم. پنجشنبه شب، طوفاني اينجا شد که من رو به ياد تعريف قيامت کتاب ديني انداخت...تازه فهميدم قيامت خيلي چيز بدي هم نيست چونکه با خودش بي برقي مياره و بي برقي هم يک آرامش خاصي به آدم ميده که هيچ جور ديگه هم نميشه پيداش کرد. مثلا اگه آدم چراغهاي خونه اش رو خاموش کنه و به جاش شمع روشن کنه اصلا به پاي اين نمي رسه که از سرما بلرزه و دور خودش پتو بپيچه و تو نور شمع آلبومهاي قديميشو که خاک گرفته اند تماشا کنه! کار، که جمعه تعطيل شد چون که نه برق بود و نه اينترنت و خلاص! ولي فرق جمعه با روزهاي تعطيل ديگه اين بود که شهر کاملا تعطيل بود و دست هيچ کسي هم به من نميرسيد چون حتي موبايلم هم مرده بود و ديگه واقعا از دنيا بيخبر بودم. شايد سالها بود که اينجوري تاريکي رو با تمام وجود احساس نکرده بودم. دو روز به همين منوال گذشت... ولي حيف که تا من داشتم به اين حال و هوا و کنده شدن از دنيا عادت ميکردم و ازش لذت ميبردم برق منطقه ما برگشت سر جاش! چونکه اگه برنميگشت اين مال نزديک خونه من ميليونها دلار ضرر ميکرد که اصلا تو اين شرايط نزديک کريسمس جايز نبود...س

Exactly a year ago, on this day I was on a plane to Ireland... I had no idea what it would be like, I didn't know a single person in Ireland, didnt' know how long I was going away for? didn't know where I would be living, which people I would be working with, and what my life would be like! I knew nothing...and it was SCARY! I was so nervous that my body started reacting once I got there...my muscles were so sore and tense that I couldn't even open the doors in our office...I remember the first week I got there I was complaning to this guy that your doors here are too heavy and I can't open the doors here so I have to follow people in and out! Later on I realized that it wasn't really the doors and it was my arms that were not happy with this change... What's amazing though is that a year later I can say that the only thing in my life that I haven't gotten over yet is my life in Dublin...

I finally decided that Sean Penn is my #1 favorite actor. I've always admired him, and have always been fascinated with his acting. He was on Larry King's show last night, and Larry mentioned that it's a well known fact that Sean Penn is the best actor alive! Then his response made me respect him even more, and helped me make my final decision! lol! What a city! There is so much about it, I don't even know where to start from! I just know that it's a city where people need to buy ipods 7 days a week 24 hours a day, and that's why the apple store is open 24X7 to serve people... It's a city where all bars/restaurants are non smoking, but if you show up to a bar after 2 am you actually get a special offer for a cigarette with your own personal ash tray... It's the city where people truely find their passion... I met two girls that had just moved there from New Hamshire with big dreams. One girl wanted to become a famous chef and the other one wanted to become an actor, they were so full of passion and energy that made me re-think my dreams! It's just that I haven't come up with a dream that big yet...hehe, maybe I need to move to New York to find one. The whole trip was an amazing experience but what made it complete was running into Mr. Big in Time Square! I can't believe I actually saw Mr. Big in NYC! I guess anything is possible there....

I'm reading this book now that has really got me to think. I'm just going to write down a paragraph from the book and leave the rest for you to read and rethink your ideas about education and money :0) "Today, the most dangerous advice you can give a child is 'Go to school, get good grades and look for a safe secure job.' That is old advice, and it's bad advice. If you could see what is happening in Asia, Europe, South America, you would be very concerned about your advice. It is foolish to assume that the education the school system provides will prepare your children for the world they will face upon graduation. " Schools don't teach students about money or finance, and the new world revolves around money and is very tricky compared to the old days! In the old days people could become rich and have a nice life if they only went to college, got good grades and got a good job afterwards. BUT these are the old rules, and they don't work in the new world! We have to be extremely careful about the advice we give to our children!

I'm finally back and very excited! It's amazing how much I missed Seattle and my life here. I really enjoyed my life in Dublin and absolutely love Irish people, but it's good to be back. So hard to be back at work tho...I have been travelling for the past 2 weeks and saw some some more of europe but now I'm all lazy... I want to go home although it's only 1 pm!! Hopefully I'll be more productive at work on Monday :)

The other day I was thinking what I'll really miss in Ireland when I leave in couple weeks, and here is my list so far: 1. Taxi drivers. I've had the best chats with random taxi drivers who are incredibaly fun and easy to talk to (about anything! trust me. You should come to Ireland just for the sake of a chat with a taxi driver!) 2. Hearing the "F" word at work! People use it as easy as they use the word "what's up". Actually one of my colleagues here got a bad review from his boss in US for using this word. His boss apparently had no idea about the Irish language! 3. People asking each other about their next weekend plans first thing Monday morning! 4. Charm of the Irish men!

So Barbara my friend has been telling me for the past few weeks to go to Wexford (south of Ireland) with her for the "Hen Weekend"! At first I thought I am going to a place that has lots of hens and chickens! Then I thought it's probably a national day or something....Couple days later I heard her talking about only girls going to Wexford, so I figured it's just a girls away weekend and therefore it's called "Hen Weekend". haha.... but just yesterday she told me that the bride is looking for a lace for the "Hen Weekend". That's when I realized that "Hen Weekend" means "Bachelorette Party Weekend"! Isn't that funny?

So, I know this person who is very snobby and her everything has to be the absolute perfect! And ofcourse to have the full package her boyfriend had to propse to her on top of the Eiffel Tower! Ok, so like anyone else when I heard that...I thought aaahhh so sweet and romantic! hahahahah....but when I went to Paris a while ago and went to the top of the tower, I realized what an absolute nightmare it was!!! first of all a huge line to get on the elevator and then 200 annoying screaming school kids running around on top of the tower and another 200 people with their cameras trying to find a spot where no one else would be included in their personal picture! haha...that's when I realized! wow Eiffel is definitely the most romantic place you can get proposed to! I should keep that in mind :)

Oh, forgot to tell you about this. The Friday before Easter is called "Good Friday" in Ireland, and you have to be a saint on this day! No sins, No drinking, No picking your nose! lol! The rules are soooo strict that you can't have drinks in restaurants. And all bars are closed everywhere in Ireland on this day. You can't even purchase alcohol in supermarkets and they have big, thick, black covers over all the alcohol sections of the store, just to make sure you don't commit a sin by looking at the exotic bottles! I think this day is the hardest day on the Irish people...hehe, the funny thing though is that once the day is over at 12:01 am all bars open up to celebrate their patience for not drinking for a WHOLE day!

If you can imagine a street with a hill in the middle and a castle on top of it, that's Edinburgh! It was so cute I thought I'm in the "shahreh asbaab baazi haa". Reminded me of Pinocchio and how he changed into a donkey because he had so much fun...the whole time I was worried I'll change into a donkey...thank god I'm still a human! well, almost... other than my eating habits which were heavily affected by my dear friend who simply is the pickiest thing on earth! I'm talking about Sanaz J - she is amazing when it comes to food, she basically drags you around the city for 3 hours to give you a sandwich and then ends up in a supermarket with a peice of bread and a big smile on her face and crumbs all over her shirt! That's when she reminds you why you love her so much, and why you can handle eating in the same restaurant for 3 days (because that's the only restaurants that passes the criteria in the whole city)...

سلام سلام ..بالاخره برگشتم دابلين و دوباره مستقر شدم. راستش خوشحالم که برگشتم يک جايي که زبون ملت رو ميفهمم. تو آلمان کلي تو هتل دراما داشتم سر اينکه نمي تونستم بهشون توضيح بدم که براي برق کامپيوترم اداپتور ميخوام و ديگه کلي با راننده تاکسها بايد کلنجار مي رفتم که بهشون بگم کجا مي خوام برم .. خلاصه خوبه که اينجا ملت زبون آدمو ميفهمند.. ايندفعه ديگه يک آپارتمان هم دارم و تو هتلها ويلون نيستم. . .هميشه سر اينکه يادم ميرفت رزرو اتاقمو تمديد کنم برنامه داشتم و چند بار کم مونده بود وسط خيابون رو چمدونام بخوابم...تو اين چند هفته با يکي ازهمکارام مسافرت کردم که يک خانوم مسن و جهوده و فکر ميکنم به زودي من رو هم جهود کنه..چون تنها چيزي که راجع بهش حرف ميزنه مدرسه جهودي دخترش و کارهايي که ميکنن و ايناستو خلاصه منم تو اين مدت هر شب سر شام ازش تعليم گرفتم و فکر ميکنم دو سه جلسه ديگه تعليماتم تکميل بشه و بتونم جهود بشم ..هه هه.. تو هفته گذشته من تو پنج تا هتل مختلف خوابيدم که يکي از يکي خنده دار تر بود. مخصوصا شهرهايي که تو انگليس و آلمان رفتم خيلي پرت بودن و حتي رو نقشه نمي شد ديدشون. من نميدونم مردم اين جاها رو از کجا پيدا ميکنن...خلاصه يکي از هتلهايي که رفتم مخصوص ماه عسليها بود و خيلي کوچيک و شيک و پيک بود و صاحباش فرانسوي بودن و درست حسابي نميشد حرفشونو فهميد..و آسانسور هم نداشت و اتاق منم طبقه دوم بود و مجبور شدم که اين چمدوناي خرس و دو طبقه بکشونم بالا..فکر ميکنم خود هتليها هم مونده بودن که من اونجا چي کار ميکنم! ولي آخه بقيه هتلها پر بودن و من مجبور شدم برم اونجا..خلاصه هتل قشنگي بود ولي فکر ميکنم براي تعطيلات خيلي جالبتر باشه..ساناز وبن هم اومدن اونجا دنبالم و من و ساناز کلي به اوضاع اونجا خنديديم و جاي مامانامونو براي تابلوها آنتيک فرانسوي خالي کرديم...از اونجا رفتيم لندن و تمام آخر هفته فقط خورديم. من که ياد بچگيهام افتاده بودم و مي ترسيدم که شب مجبور بشم سر توالت بخوابم.هه هه.. خوشبختانه چيزي نشد ولي شانس آوردم...س

بالاخره امروز براي اولين بار از موقعيکه رسيدم تونستم يک کمي استراحت کنم و به خونه و خودم برسم. از روزيکه برگشتم همش به راه عروسي و مسافرت و اسکي بودم و وقتي هم که از اسکي برگشتم يک راست رفتم سر کار و اصلا نتونستم استراحت کنم. اسکي هم خيلي خوب بود و خيلي خوش گذشت.. البته هوا اولش باروني بود و نميشد اسکي کرد و ما هم به جاش لوژ بازي کرديم و تو خونه لونبونديم و فقط يک روز تونستيم اسکي کنيم ولي خوب از هيچ چي بهتر بود...موقع برگشتن هم يک روز سانفرانسيسکو موندم که خيلي خوب بود به جز قسمتي که شب تو خيابون شيشه ماشين اجاره ايم رو شکوندن و يک چيزاييم رو بلند کردن...ظاهرا اونجا اين خيلي موضوع عادي هست و شيشه شکوندن و دزدي کردن دکون خوبيه!خلاصه اينم از آخر مسافرتمون...هه هه... امروز هم که مثلا روز استراحت بود همش داشتم نامه هاي اين سه ماه رو باز ميکردم. تو اين مدت به اندازه يک کوه روي ميزم نامه جمع شده بود. اينقدر نامه باز کردم که انگشتام ورم کردن الان... ديگه يواش يواش هم مي خوام برم ولو بشم و بخوابم...شب به خير..س

خيلي وقته که چيزي ننوشتم..راستش هم کار خيلي زياد بود و هم. اينکه اينجا مردم کريستمس رو خيلي جدي ميگيرن و از دو هفته قبلش همش در حال جشن و سرور هستن. منم. خوب از فرصت استفاده مي کنم و هر شب خودم رو يک جايي ميندازم! ولي خوبه و خوش ميگذره..ايرلنديها واقعا خوش گذرون هستند و از زندگيشون لذت مي برن. خوب حالا بريم سر داستانمون...داستانمون کوتاهه..يادمه هميشه هر وقت که مي رفتيم اصفهان مامي لهجه اش عوض مي شد و خيلي جدي با مغازه دارها با لهجه اصفهوني حرف مي زد و اونا هم مي خنديدن و ميگفتن خانوم لهجه شما قلابيه خيال ميکني ما نمي فهميم! ولي مامي هم از رو نمي رفت و ادامه مي داد. الان فکر ميکنم شايد مامي دست خودش نبود و لهجه خودش مي اومد. حالا منم همين طور شدم و يک هوا حرفامو مي کشم و خيلي جدي وقتي با ايرلنديها معاشرت مي کنم ناخوداگاه لهجه ام عوض مي شه...بايد بشنويد و بخنديد...س

So, I was on my way back to Dublin and I had layover in New York for 3 hours. There was this Portugese restaurant that their menu looked really yummy so I went in, and as usual took out some stuff to read since eating alone is not that fun...So I was eating and reading that noticed this guy sitting next to me looks like Ethan Hawk, so I kept looking and looking and then realized that it's actually him! So I asked "hey! you Ethan Hawk?", and he looked up and said "yeah, I am", and I was like "oh, ok!". And I didn't know what else to say, so I continued reading my stuff, but kept thinking "wow! my all time favorite actor is sitting next to me and I'm not doing anything!" honestly he has always been my favorite actor and not Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt or all those guys!! But I still didn't know what to say...so finally he looked at me and he said "hey do you know what time it is?", and of course Sanaz didn't have her watch on! but thank god for cell phones! hehe, so we started talking after that, and I asked him if I could take a picture with him, and he said since there are alot of people around he rather not, but then he said I would like to meet you though... and he asked my name and asked where I'm from and what I do and where I'm going and all that. He said he has alot of Iranian friends and he wants to go to Tehran someday. He actaully knew alot about it and he seemed like an interesting guy. So we chatted for a while and at the end we said bye and went our own ways...me to Dublin and him to Austin!

سگ ترسناک - قسمت دوم

خوب حالا بذارين داستان اين سگه رو براتون تعريف کنم... دو هفته پيش رفته بودم شفيلد (انگليس) پيش ساناز- خودم نه! من و ساناز تو ايران تمام دوران دبيرستان ودانشگاهمون رو با هم گذرونديم و خاطرات خيلي خيلي زياد و خوبي با هم داريم و اين يکي هم بهشون اضافه شد - اون روز تصميم گرفتيم بريم خارج از شهر و يک صومعه قديمي رو ببينيم ولي موقع رفتن کلي لفتش داديم و وسط راه وايستاديم و شهر يورک رو ديديم و از اون جايي که بنده آدم شکمويي هستم يک جايي هم يک ناهار حسابي و طولاني خورديم و وقتي که به اون صومعه رسيديم هوا حسابي تاريک شده بود و از اونجايي که صومعه فقط يک خرابه قديمي بود هيچ نور و چراغي نبود. هيچ وقت نشده بود که چشمام سياهي رو به اين رنگ ببينن. خلاصه من و ساناز و دوستش پررو تر از اين حرفا بوديم و تصميم گرفتيم که با اين که هيچ جايي رو نمي بينيم پيش بريم. اون وسطها يک رودخونه هم بود که به هيچ وجه نميشد ديد ولي از صداش ميشد فهميد که يک رودخونه هم سر راهمون هست يک جورايي خيلي احساس عجيبي بود و همينطور که راه مي رفتيم داشتيم فکر مي کرديم که ترسناکترين چيزي که مي تونيم ببينيم چي مي تونه باشه و همه به اين نتيجه رسيديم که سگ تو اون موقعيت از هر چيزي ترسناکتره. خلاصه به خرابه هاي صومعه رسيديم و داشتيم ميديديم چي به چيه که يکهو يک چراغ خودبه خود روشن شد و ساناز خانوم يک جيغ بنفش کشيد و من قبل از اينکه بفهمم چي به چيه روي کول ساناز بودم و سانازم روي کول دوستش و يک سگه بيچاره هم جلومون تند تند پارس مي کرد..ما هم منتظر بوديم که سگه هر آن بياد گازمون بگيره. البته فکر مي کنم سگه بيشتر از ما ترسيده بود و منتظر بود که ما بريم اونو گاز بگيريم...هه هه وقتي به خودمون اومديم ديديم که بيچاره خيلي کوچولوه و منم همون موقع ازش عکس گرفتم... فوري هم صاحبش اومد بيرون (معلوم نبود از کجا) و شروع کرد سگ بيچاره اش رو دعوا کردن...خلاصه شب بامزه اي بود...س

من يک جورايي به اين نتيجه رسيدم که ايرلنديها يا خيلي مهربون و صميمي هستند يا اينکه فوضولند. هاها...آخه من تقريبا هر شب بيرون يک چيزي مي خورم وبعدش برميگردم هتل و مي خوابم. ولي هر دفعه با چند نفر آدم جديد آشنا ميشم که داستانهاي جالبي هم دارند.مثلا هفته پيش رفتم يک رستوران چيني و با خودم يک چيزي هم بردم که مثلا بخونم که يعني من سرم گرمه و کار دارم و مزاحم نشيد... ولي وقتي که نشستم سر ميز دو نفري که بغلم نشسته بودن سر صحبت رو باز کردن و شروع کردن به سوال که چرا تنهايي و از کجا اومدي و چي کار مي کني( براي همين ميگم که يا خيلي مهربونن يا فوضول..)خلاصه شروع کرديم حرف زدن و معلوم شد که يکيشون ظاهرا صاحب ماشين قديمي بونو (يوتو) هستش و کلي داستانهاي جالب داشت که چقدر ايرلنديها نسبت به آدمهاي معروف بي تفاوت هستند و براشون مهم نيست که کي کيه و براي همين هم بونو اينجا زندگي مي کنه براي اينکه کسي کاري به کارشون نداره و از دست طرفداراشون در امان هستند...هه هه...خلاصه بعد منو دعوت کردن که آخر هفته با دوستاشون بريم شام و منم رفتم وکلي خوش گذشت...خيلي جالبه که آدم همين جوري دوستهاي جديد پيدا کنه. من فکر نمي کنم که تو سياتل حتي اگه شيش ساعت هم تنهايي تو يک رستوران بشينم کسي سر صحبت رو باهام باز کنه...س

گوسفند ايرلندي

اگه بخوام ايرلند رو تو سه کلمه خلاصه کنم ميتونم بگم "چمن" و "گوسفند" و "قلعه". و طبيعي هم هست که از روزي که رسيدم دنبال يک شالگردن خوشگل مي گردم که در ضمن گوسفند سازنده اش هم ايرلندي باشه. اينجا چيز پشمي زياد پيدا مي شه ولي چرت و پرت هم توش زياده. بعضي از پولورهاي محلي راستش منو ياد البسکو مي ندازن. بگذريم...اين هفته گذشته با چند نفر ديگه رفتيم و تو يک قلعه قرن پونزدهم مونديم. اين قلعه رو يک زن و شوهر حدود سي سال گذشته خريده بودن و بازسازي کردن و از اون به بعد به توريستها اجاره اش ميدن. شهري هم که اين قلعه توش بود يک شهر قديمي و سنتي ايرلندي هستش و منم ديدم اين بهترين فرصت براي خريدن يک شالگردن پشمي با گوسفند ايرلنديه. خلاصه وقتيکه رفتيم جوبگردي يک مغازه اي که اون دورو برا بود رو خوب زير و رو کردم و يک شالگردن پشمي صورتي که خيلي هم خوشگله پيدا کردم و با ذوق و شوق خرديدمش. وقتي اومدم خونه پوشيدمش و يکهو چشمم به مارکش افتاد که نوشته بود"ساخته شده در فرانسه" خلاصه هم خنده ام گرفت و هم حرص خوردم! من که اگه جاي اين گوسفنداي ايرلندي بودم خيلي بهم بر مي خورد. ..س

مسابقه فوتبال

ديشب مسابقه فوتبال ايرلند و سوييس بود براي رفتن به جام جهاني. طفلکيا نتونستند ببرن...ولي همه جا خيلي شلوغ بود و ملت حسابي جيغ و داد مي کردند. من و همکارام رفتيم اينجا و مسابقه رو نگاه کرديم...س

غذاي جالب

ديروز با همکارام رفتيم شام بيرون و مثلا يک جاي خيلي لوکس و شيک و پيک و مجلل که همه گارسونهاش لهجه فرانسوي داشتند و واقعا هم فرانسوي بودن! در نتيجه موقعيکه داشتم غذامو سفارش ميدادم درست حسابي نفهميدم که چي سفارش دادم. .. فقط فهميدم که توش ميگو داشت و همين کافي بود. ولي چشمتون روز بد نبينه وقتي غذامو آورد ديدم که يک چيزي اندازه کيک يزدي آورد که روشم چهار تا ميگوي کوچولو اندازه کرم داشت. من که تا حالا همچين ميگوهاي کوچولويي نديده بودم. خلاصه با چشيدن اون کيک ميگو و کرمهاي روش اشتهام حسابي کور شد ولي خوب از اون ورم همه بهم مي گفتن که يک غذاي ديگه سفارش بده. منم از رو نرفتم و يک غذاي ديگه (ماهي) سفارش دادم ولي خوب از اونورم مجبور شدم نيم ساعتي جيم بزنم و برم تو دستشويي تا بتونم معده بيچاره ام رو راضي کنم که يک غذاي فرانسوي ديگه رو بچپونم بهش! خلاصه شبي بود...س

شهر شلوغ

چند روز بعد از اينکه به دابلين رسيدم مثلا خواستم به شرکت لطف کنم و هتلم رو عوض کنم و برم يک جاي ارزونتر. خلاصه اينکه چمدونهامو جمع کردمو و خرکشون رفتم يک هتل ديگه. البته وقتي رسيدم حسابي خورد تو ذوقم! چونکه يک جاي قديمي بود و پنجره اش هم درست حسابي بسته نمي شد. ولي گفتم حالا اشکال نداره بزودي ميرم يک آپارتمان و تا اون موقع همين بد نيست. ولي شب موقع خواب همچين تجربه اي کردم که صبح با سه تا چمدونهام دم در بودم و فکر کردم که عمو بيل اينقدر پول داره که من تو يک هتل گرونتر بمونم! شب که مي خواستم بخوابم سر و صدا تو خيابون زياد بود ولي اينقدر خسته بودم که بيهوش شدم. ولي داستان خواب به هميجا ختم نشد و ساعت 4 صبح از سر و صداي ملت و موزيک و جيغ و داد از خواب پريدم. صدا اينقدر بلند بود که اينگار وسط تظاهرات خوابيده بودم و اون وسط يکي هم طبل مي زد و بقيه آواز مي خوندن... خلاصه بساطي بود و منم يک ساعتي غلط زدم ولي اصلا خوابم نمي برد چون صدا کم که نمي شد هيچي ملت هيجان زده تر هم ميشدند. خلاصه وقتي به اين نتيجه رسيدم که وسط اين هياهو خوابم نمي بره به سيلن زنگ زدم که مي شد شب اونا. ..خلاصه يک کم گپ زديم و هم همه بيرون هم کم کم ساعت 5 صبح خوابيد. ولي اصلا باورم نميشه که مردم يک شهر اينقدر انرژي داشته باشند...س

سلام! من سلام کردن رو خيلي دوست دارم ولي مامي هميشه ميگه عين اين داهاتيها که از اين اتاق به اون اتاق مي رن به همه سلام مي کنن منم به همه سلام من کنم حالا بگذريم راستش من وقيتيکه کوچيک بودم خاطراتمو مي نوشتم و اينقدر جدي بودم که اگه يک شب خاطراتمو نمي نوشتم عذاب وجدان مي گرفتم! خلاصه الان هم يکهو هوس کردم که خاطراتمو بنويسم اينجوري کسايي هم که دوستشون دارم و ازم دور هستن مي فهمن که روزها ي من اينجا چه جوري ميگذرند. ولي خوب بايد بگم که خيلي هم نبايد جدي گرفت و يک کم طنز خوبه.. س
